In addition to the financial and staff/volunteer
commitments during the August and September flooding, your local chapter
responds to emergencies and disasters 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Our first
priority is to respond to and offer assistance to those affected by disaster and
emergencies in our communities in DeKalb county.
In the last 18 months we have responded to over
20 fire disasters and provided assistance to 75 persons. Since July 2006, the
Chapter has handled over 50 Armed Forces Emergency Services calls. We train over
1600 persons annually in the community and in the workplace in the latest CPR/AED
and First Aid courses. In 2005, the DeKalb County Chapter assisted 100 Katrina
evacuees locally.
Please help us to continue this necessary good
work. Help us to help others in the community. We'll be there.
We are your local chapter of the American Red
Cross located in DeKalb County. We are urgently seeking out caring people like
yourself who would be willing to join our team in assisting others affected by
disaster. We have this and many other volunteer opportunities.
